Sick Guidelines
Staff and students who are sick must stay home until they are feeling better. Doing so will help keep our school communities healthy and safe. The district reserves the right to send staff and students who are displaying signs of illness outside of their usual baseline home to prevent the spread of any and all illnesses. Staff and students should stay home if they have any of the following symptoms:
- Fever of 100.4 or higher
- Vomiting
- Diarrhea
- Coughing
- Headache
- Sore throat
- Runny nose
- Lice
Staff and students who are sick must stay home until symptoms have improved and:
- they have been fever-free for 24 hours without the use of medication;
- they have not vomited and/or had diarrhea in 24 hours; AND/OR
- they have been on antibiotics for 24 hours.
WI state law (118.15) states that a child may not be excused for more than 10 days in a school year.
Staff who are absent three or more consecutive days must provide a doctor’s note as required in the Employee Handbook.
